I always wanted to approach it as a same sex relationship in this world as viewed no differently than a heterosexual relationship. I still get so many comments mostly from young guys saying, ‘Oh I love the show. It’s fantastic. Do you really need all that gay shit?” They always call it, “Gay shit.” I always politely tell them, ‘Yes. Yes I do. It will always be a part of the show.’ I just don’t understand how straight males can feel threatened by what two other people are doing. It always boggles my mind.
